About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer to lead the design and implementation of systems that combine AI automation with human workflows.

This is a highly impactful, fully hands-on engineering role focused on architecture and execution. You will not have people management responsibilities or direct reports. Instead, you will own technical decisions, system design, and implementation as the platform scales.

You should feel comfortable solving ambiguous problems, partnering closely with operations and product teams, and making thoughtful engineering trade-offs in a regulated, real-world environment.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys systems thinking, building resilient infrastructure, and operating with a high degree of ownership.

What You’ll Work On

• Architecting workflow and orchestration systems for complex operational processes
• Designing AI-driven automations that safely handle routine tasks and escalate edge cases
• Building human-in-the-loop systems where AI assists and supports human workflows
• Managing long-running, stateful workflows spanning days or weeks
• Integrating with external systems such as EVV platforms, insurers, government portals, and legacy tools
• Designing confidence scoring, auditability, and rollback mechanisms for AI systems
• Improving reliability, observability, and production failure handling

Responsibilities

• Drive the technical design and implementation of scalable backend systems
• Make and document architectural decisions with clear trade-offs
• Define patterns for AI and human collaboration in production workflows
• Partner closely with operations teams to understand real-world edge cases and failure modes
• Ensure systems are observable, auditable, and safe to operate at scale
• Identify technical risks proactively and propose mitigations
• Maintain a high bar for code quality, testing, and system design
• Contribute to technical excellence through design reviews and collaboration

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building and operating production software systems
• Proven experience architecting and owning complex backend-heavy systems
• Strong backend engineering skills (TypeScript and Node.js preferred, but we are language-agnostic)
• Experience with asynchronous, event-driven, or workflow-based distributed systems
• Ability to work with a required 4–5 hour daily overlap with the US team (until approximately 20:00–21:00 Polish time)
• Comfort working in ambiguous problem spaces with incomplete information
• Strong English communication skills (written and spoken)
• Self-starter mindset with strong ownership and accountability

Nice to Have

• Experience in healthtech or other regulated, high-compliance industries
• Familiarity with HIPAA and healthcare data privacy/security requirements
• Experience building systems with strict compliance or audit requirements
• Hands-on experience with AI or LLM-powered systems and process automation (e.g. Anthropic Claude or similar APIs)
• Experience with human-in-the-loop workflows
• Experience integrating unreliable or legacy third-party APIs
• Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
