Overview
We are looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to join our engineering team and play a pivotal role in shaping how we build and deliver software at scale. While we maintain a flat organizational structure, this is a “senior-senior” individual contributor role designed for someone who can make an outsized impact.
In this position, you will act as a technical anchor—taking initiative to solve complex problems, raising engineering standards, and uplifting those around you. You will partner closely with leadership to define technical strategy while remaining deeply hands-on.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing
- Driving Technical Delivery: Translate high-level goals into a clear, actionable roadmap of impactful projects.
- Uplifting the Team: Mentor both senior and junior engineers—your success is measured by the team’s growth.
- Setting the Standard: Establish and uphold engineering standards to ensure long-term quality and maintainability.
- Navigating Uncertainty: Provide direction when the path forward isn’t clear and guide complex architectural decisions.
- Solving the Hard Stuff: Be the go-to person for challenging production issues and high-stakes technical decisions.
What We’re Looking For
- Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience with Ruby is essential.
- Impact: Proven track record of leading complex, cross-team initiatives with measurable business outcomes.
- Communication: Ability to operate across levels—discussing deep technical topics with engineers and strategy with stakeholders.
- Initiative: Strong instinct for identifying high-leverage technical investments and driving them to completion.
- Preferred Background: Experience in HR, Fintech, or Accounting platforms is a strong plus.

- System Design Interview: 60-minute deep dive into your architectural thinking.
- Behavioral Interview: 60-minute discussion about your experience and collaboration style.
- Final Call: Conversation with the CEO.
