Chief Technology Officer

About the Role

The company is a mature technology organization with 10 years of market experience, 5 successful investment rounds, and backing from a PE fund. It is entering a pivotal growth phase, combining startup flexibility with professionalized enterprise processes.

We are looking for a hands-on Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to take full ownership of the technology ecosystem, elevate delivery speed, and build the target IT organizational structure. Reporting directly to the Board, you will balance strategic leadership, AI-native team productivity, vendor management, and code-level architectural oversight.

Core Responsibilities

Tech Ecosystem & Strategy (85–90% of time): Own the entire technology ecosystem, including build-vs-buy decisions, IT budgeting, and partner/vendor integrations.

Architectural Oversight & Hands-On Quality (10–15% of time): Supervise backend architecture, enforce code quality, and conduct hands-on code acceptance and reviews.

AI Integration & Engineering Productivity: Implement and enforce AI-native development workflows (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, LLMs) to drastically accelerate delivery and shorten development cycles.

Team Leadership & Restructuring: Audit the competencies of the current 4-developer team, optimize roles, conduct necessary hiring/restructuring, and establish structured agile sprint processes.

Technical Debt & Security: Eliminate technical debt, ensure GDPR compliance, manage data security (backups, disaster recovery, vulnerability patching), and mitigate bus factor risks.

Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with the CPO, COO, Marketing, and Back Office under changing business priorities.

Requirements

Leadership Experience: Minimum 4 years of IT leadership experience as a CTO, CIO, or mature Tech Lead with strong strategic vision.

Technical Depth: Deep engineering background in Python/Django, Flutter, and system architecture to perform independent code audits and technical sign-offs.

AI-Native Engineering: Practical experience implementing modern AI-assisted tools for coding, testing, and team process automation.

Organizational Execution: Sound judgment in evaluating engineering talent, paired with the determination to restructure teams and drive hiring when needed.

Mindset & Communication: Goal-oriented, highly resilient under time pressure, and fluent in English (min. B2).

Nice to Have

• Experience within PE/VC portfolio companies.
• Industry experience in SaaS, FinTech, Automotive, Mobile Applications, or CRM/ERP implementations.

Key Milestones (First 6 Months)

30 Days: Present a full technical audit (architecture, technical debt, security) and team evaluation to the Board; unblock and finalize the pending CRM (Freshworks) rollout.

90 Days: Present the target IT team structure, execute necessary talent adjustments, and implement structured sprint reporting.

180 Days: Achieve predictable delivery velocity using AI tools, complete technical documentation, and close critical security gaps.

Compensation: PLN 27,000–30,000 net per month (B2B contract).
