Director of AI

We are seeking a highly experienced Director of AI to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions. In this role, you will serve as both a technical authority and strategic leader, driving the creation of scalable, AI-powered applications that transform business operations.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs) and traditional AI/ML techniques, strong hands-on Python skills, and a passion for evangelizing AI across the organization. You will help define the company’s AI vision while ensuring practical, production-ready execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership & Strategy: Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for AI initiatives, guiding engineering teams on architecture, tooling, and best practices.

• AI/ML Architecture: Design, build, and deploy advanced AI architectures, spanning LLM-based systems and traditional machine learning models.

• Scalability & Performance: Optimize AI solutions for scalability, efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness in production environments.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to build robust data pipelines and align AI capabilities with business goals.

• Innovation & Research: Evaluate emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and tools to keep the organization at the forefront of innovation.

• AI Governance: Establish best practices for AI governance, monitoring, and responsible AI usage.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Advocate for AI-driven solutions and clearly communicate complex technical concepts and business value to executive and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.

Experience

• Proven experience designing, deploying, and scaling AI/ML systems in production environments.

• Demonstrated leadership in guiding technical teams and influencing AI strategy.

Technical Expertise

• Deep expertise in Large Language Models (e.g., GPT, BERT, Llama) and classical machine learning techniques.

• Strong proficiency in Python.

• Hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.

Cloud, Data & MLOps

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools for model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.

• Solid understanding of data engineering fundamentals, including SQL and NoSQL databases.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex AI concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Experience building AI-driven applications such as chatbots, NLP, or computer vision systems.

• Familiarity with vector databases and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.

• Understanding of AI security, privacy, and regulatory considerations.

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
