Solutions Architect – Shopify

The Role

We are looking for a high-level Solutions Architect to lead the technical design and implementation of enterprise-grade Shopify environments. In this role, you will act as a trusted technical advisor to client executives (CTO, CIO) and lead the development of complex storefronts and system integrations.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Technical Architecture: Design and document complete end-to-end technical architectures for Shopify Plus stores, covering storefront design (headless or theme-based), backend services, and security.
• Enterprise Integration: Architect and develop complex integrations between Shopify and mission-critical enterprise platforms such as ERP, OMS, PIM, WMS, CRM, and CDP using REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Custom Development: Build and maintain custom Shopify applications (private/public) and implement advanced functionality using Shopify Functions and Checkout Extensibility.
• Theme Maintenance: Develop and customize high-quality themes using Liquid, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks like React.
• Strategic Advisory: Serve as the technical expert for client executives and partner with the Sales team to provide technical vetting, scoping, and effort estimations for new projects.
• Standards Oversight: Ensure all development adheres to industry standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years in e-commerce solution architecture or technical consulting, including at least 3 years of dedicated Shopify experience.
• Shopify Expertise: Proven expertise with Shopify Plus, Liquid templating, admin features, and the broader app ecosystem.
• Headless Commerce: Proven expertise with headless Shopify architectures, specifically Hydrogen and Oxygen implementations.

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Shopify’s REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Proficiency in modern web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React/Next.js.
• Expertise in MS Entity Framework.

Integration Knowledge

• Experience architecting integrations with major enterprise back-office systems (ERP, OMS, PIM).

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication, critical thinking, creativity, and a systematic approach to problem-solving.

Nice-to-Haves

• Shopify Certification or other relevant e-commerce platform certifications.
• Prior experience in re-platforming from legacy systems to modern architectures.
• Familiarity with back-end languages such as Node.js or Ruby.
