Data Scientist

Our company is creating the next phase of digital tools for the movement of people around the world. Our mission is to make navigation easier for millions of people  – and we need your help!

Position Summary:

We are a fast-growing startup in the navigation technology sector, trying to tackle some of the most challenging problems facing industries associated with the movement of people. We are looking for data scientists who are excited by the challenge of solving problems using a wide array of modeling and quantitative techniques.

This can involve product feature prototyping, new metric development, and exploratory data analysis. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing our data and deriving actionable insights and models to help push our business objectives forward. The type of projects includes improving our prediction models, and modeling users and segments in privacy-protecting ways.

The position will report directly to the Product Lead and collaborate with the Engineering Lead and team.

Responsibilities:

  • Build supervised/unsupervised machine learning models and support feature engineering
  • Build statistical inference and big data analytics
  • Research and prototype models to extract insights from customer interactions
  • Develop IP in the form of patents and research papers
  • Work with software engineers to implement and deploy machine learning models and data analytics into production
  • Conduct ad-hoc data investigation and data-driven approaches for insights extraction
  • Work with product team and core clients to scope requirements and communicate project status
  • Proactively Identify and implement product and process changes to make the platform more efficient and accurate

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience building out predictive models using advanced statistical or ML techniques in a production environment and experience performing analysis with large datasets
  • Proven problem solver, with a track record of successfully uncovering data insights that lead to positive business impact
  • Ability to synthesize complex ideas for both technical and non-technical audiences.
